Part 1. Aluminium Rainscreen with Punched Openings

This course considers rainscreen façade clad in aluminium panels and glazed with storey-height windows. Aluminium panels have become the second most widely spread facade coverage after bricks. There are three ways of installing aluminium panel façade. First – fixing of aluminium cladding back to the lightweight steel frame with punched openings. Second - mixture of rain-screen cladding and stick-curtain wall system. Third – incorporating both aluminium panels and glass panes in unitised curtain walling. This course is on the first assembly type.

Unique appearance of the façade was achieved with all standard systems. Detail drawings, videos and explanatory clips explain buildability, performance, compliance and assembly-specific aspects.
